i'm out.
by yellow inthought you'd might like to know but i'm officially out.
it feels great all the hurt, guilt, fear and paranoia questioning, doubts, etc etc are finally gone and it tastes and feels good what a relief.
no more pain and sorrow, only jubilation along with a sense of being finally at peace with myself.

To Angel Eyes & Other WT Apologists
by snowbird init has come to my attention that a much-beloved poster on this forum has been hurt by the insensitivity shown toward her account of how badly she was treated by the wt.. i realize this is a place where are all welcome, and barring any posting guidelines violations, we are free to air our views without fear of any backlash.. however, please keep in mind that most posters here - yours truly being one of them - view the wt in a negative light.
with all the evidence out there pertaining to its deceitfulness, how can anyone view it otherwise?.
i reached out to you, angel eyes, because i sense that you need a friend.

Other Points From the Annual Meeting
by jabberwock ini realize that the latest clarification of the generation teaching has been discussed quite a bit on this thread.. but i think that there are at least two other important points from the annual meeting that have been, for the most part, overlooked:.
1. the weeds of matthew 13 are not the churches of christendom, but apostates.. 2. showing love to our neighbors involves more than just the preaching work.
(thanks for mentioning this rubadub).

JWs--A Religion No One Really Cares About
by minimus init's funny that when you seperate yourself from the cult, you see very few people care about the witnesses.
as jws we were always told how the governments were going to turn on religion and then try to obliterate us and how jehovah would step in, in the nick of time, and save all of his people.
how delusional!.

Does anyone think that maybe we're just wrong?
by paul from cleveland ini was disfellowshipped in 1995. even though i lost my friends and family, i felt like i had been finally set free and was happy for many years.
while i was a jehovah's witness, i always felt so miserable.
i never felt like i was doing enough to please jehovah.

Why Apostate?
by wantstoleave inthis may have been discussed elsewhere on this board but is something i've become increasingly aware of, and that's the apostasy issue.
growing up, i don't think anyone ever explained what it meant, nor did i ask - i just knew it was 'bad' and punishable by disfellowshipping.
therefore it is fairly embarrassing to say that until a few minutes ago and looking it up in a dictionary, i did not know what the meaning was.

If you pray, do you say 'Jehovah'...?
by wantstoleave injust wondering of those that pray and who have left the organisation, do you still address god as jehovah?.
i think i'm currently in that awkward stage where i'm neither in or out, yet don't feel i should even address, or have the right, to talk to god (jehovah) until i decide where i sit.
so i'm wondering if it's hypocritical to pray and use his name.

November 15 2009 Watchtower (Study Edition) - Treasure Your Place in the Congregation...
by CrazyBlonde inthought this one was quite creepy - the article to be studied january 11-17 "treasure your place in the congregation", page 13 para 5 reads (italics mine):.
"the spirit that now operates in the sons of disobedience" is so widespread that it is like the air we breathe.
